The challenge

We supported the Metropolitan City of Bologna in defining the communication tools of the PTM (Metropolitan Territorial Plan). This is a planning tool that was defined and built thanks to an open path, involving stakeholders from the institutions engaged.

Our work

Initially, our work was to design and develop a brand identity and a image to accompany this journey. Building on the defined objectives, which were approved by the Metropolitan Council in February, BoOM, BOlogna Obiettivi Metropolitani, was created. The branding is now flanking all the tools and materials of PTM. The acronym is intended to attract the attention of the general public and provides a broader perspective. The visual identity starts from a basic shape of a circle from which – with simple and linear actions – we developed 10 symbols associated with the goals of the PTM. The shapes were designed to be applied in different colors with dimensional scalability, blending in with the framework defined by the original PTM logo.
